How to enable enemy expansion without console commands?

so me and my friend started lazy bastard some time ago and we are now at purple pots but we noticed that enemy expansion is disabled so we tried to use console but it disables achievements and we don't want that since we are trying to get multiple achievements at once. so is there any way for us to enable enemy expansion and make the game harder without using console commands?

so there is no way i can do this without disabling achivements

you can edit the control.lua in the save game zip file and add the command into an event.
