Was there ever a version of Space Exploration for .16?

Seems to me iirc a few years back when I finally finished my .16 game I was wanting to do the Space Exploration mod next. However coming back to the game a few years later to pick up where I left off I see that Space Exploration requires .17 minimum, which breaks my recipes in .16 when I tried updating the base game back then.
