You can do this on a per-recipe basis by setting a 'overload_multiplier'

Nice to know this. Thanks.

But the problem arises only with super fast machines when modules are inserted or when you use initially fast machine. Most of times overload_multiplier is fine for the most parts of the game so I don't see any use from altering all recipes instead of altering a few machines.

The input buffer automatically increases as a machines speed is increased with modules and beacons.
