I would like to see a flag that can be set on items to stop inserters/entites from removing the item this would limit it to just scripts for adding and removing it from an entities inventory.
One example of where this would be useful is the latest Railtanker Mod. It uses a proxy type item to allow it to work with train station conditions. However inserters can remove this useless item and clutter things up

That would add a ton of overhead to normal operation for very little gain. So, no.
