mixed field with uran can't be mind correctly

Post by huhn »

it is not possible to build a electric miner on an mixed field with uran it will always try to mine the uran.

this is most likely just a limitation not a bug still not a nice behavior.

You need to give it sulfuric acid. The drill goes over all the ore it can reach and mines them in series. If it can't mine the ore it stops.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

well it is not there to mine uran and that is the problem. i want the coal and i don't care about the uran at all it is 718 uran...
i'm pretty sure it will mine the coal with sulfuric acid.

It might be a problem if you have no sulfuric acid on hand - like if this would happen early in game. I think if you'd provide it it would mine uranium then roll other random tile and mine it.

it does work fine with sulfuric acid.

and yes this is an early miner getting the sulfuric acid to mine the coal is a lot of work. it should ignore the uran or even destroy it

Hmm. I honestly think this is a good behavior. You can't filter any other type of mining operation, like stone and coal together, so why let you filter Uranium? The mining drill should be thought of as simultaniusly mining everything in it's reach, (even if it does physically cycle). Think of the drill heads as being stuck on the Uranium, jammed in there, unable to break through due to lack of acid to reduce it's durability. Or something.

Overall, I don't think an exception is warranted here.

Still, I could see such an exception as being reasonable to a lot of people, so who knows.

the sulfuric acid is not there to get the uran out of the ground it is there to get the uran out of the rock with is done at the miner in the game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leaching_(chemistry)

it can ignore "nothing" too.

Having the same problem. Trying to mine copper from a field with uranium but I haven't researched sulfur so why does miner change to require sulfur?

well looks like it will stay like this.
just place the miner in a way that i can't reach the uran and you are fine.

so this will stay as a RARE problem for newer players only. "where do i get sulfuric acid and why do it need it?" kind of problem.
