Got a "few issues" with robots and roboports.
This is number one.
Started playing factorio sinds 13-11-2014 on: x64_0.11.1
Have played a lot, and got to a big base on before 19-11-2014
Game was running smoth at versione 0.11.1
I updated on 19-11-2014 tot version x64_0.11.3
After that update, my FPS dropped double, and i found that the game was unplayable anymore.
One more thing to add to this, was that on 0.11.1 the robots where flying smooth, and in 0.11.3 the robots, looked out of sync.
- vertical a sync aliend? did the game grapics change?
Did not really care, because it was my test and first base. So i started a new one.
That game was only with belts, no problem at all.
My 3th game, i started in version x64_0.11.8 have runned for 125+ hours, no crashes.
Using 10.000+ robots constanly, and got 25.000robots in the robopots.
FPS is 10 fps per second.
So somethings changes between 0.11.1 and 0.11.3 signafinty that causes the fps to drop, when using a lots of robots.
Version 0.11.2 says;
Graphics
New graphics of construction and logistic robots.
Could this be the problem. Or did i miss a big change between 0.11.1 and 0.11.3 that have caused this?
If i remember correctly i have read somewhere, that before an update, you could do your own grapics settings, and after an update, the game decides for it own. (don't know if it is also maybe related)
Hope if some other peope have noticed that change in that time.
Maybe the devolpers can bring in some light to in the changes?
still experincing the same fps drop when using a lot of robots in 0.11.8
Also still not done with my base on 0.11.8, but with 10 fps is not very playable

Try the most recent version(0.11.11) there were some optimizations in 0.11.9 that might help.
Otherwise, with a huge base you have to expect some lag.

I skipped 0.11.9 and 0.11.10 because of some people could not load there save game. wanted to continue my save game without problems.
Also this is an introduction of a other or "few" other strange things with robots and the robot ports. robots getting resetted, items disapering what they hold, and go back to roboports. Last time that happend, 15k robots lost there item that they holded, and went back to the ports.. resulting in a big loss of resources, but that needs more explaining than i do now, and need to find the right way to trigger it manually, so the devolpers can simulated it on my savegame. but thats also something i need to do this weekend, no time for that now.

Well, without the save I can't tell you much, and I'm quite curious to see it as well.
But if you are really producing 43k of copper wires per minute, it is quite nice actually that the game can still run, as it is 731 wires per second ....

Its a bit of a "cheaty game". But i am only 50% on the game what i want to create.
Yesterday late at night i have upgrade to 0.11.11. No issues with the upgrade. After the upgrade, first time i saw the fps drop under 10 FPS (9,9)
So 0.11.11 gave me the same results. This weekend i will make the post about the other "issues"

Well, I checked the save. It is interesting material for future optimisations, but it is not really a bug, that the game runs 40UPS (on my computer) with this huge production.
As I said, I want to have 0.11 stable ASAP, so I will postpone all the optimisation for 0.12
