Holding the fish in the cursor and pressing Z on Aquilo it will start swimming in a bit cold ammoniacal ocean without any problems.

Thanks for the report however I'm going to make an executive decision and say this is perfectly fine. It's not causing any crashes, desyncs, or game balance issues and so it can stay like that.
