Temporary inventory

Hi.
I've noticed something with the furnaces & assemblers etc
Place a furnace, place one iron ore inside, it "disappears" into a temporary inventory. Mine the furnace, you don't get your iron ore back.

Well, having a whole ore/coal unit intact in the temporary inventory is an edge case. Usually only a fraction of the resource remains, so it makes sense you will not collect it.

This is not temporary inventory, the item is just consumed at the start of the smelting process, and you get the result once it is finished, it was altered this way for assembling machines as well and the reason was bonus production.
