Gosh Darn It Bob

Post by japerson34 »

Failed to load mod "BobExtended 0.14.18"
_BobExtended_/data-updates.lua:3:
_BobExtended_/prototypes/masselectronics/module.lua:attempt
to index field 'god-module-1' (a nil value)

I get this error when trying to run Factorio. The error causes the game to completely crash so I can't get in to remove the mods.

It's not Bob's fault, the BobExtended mod is not his :)

Read BobExtended's description: https://mods.factorio.com/mods/momosundeass/BobExtended
momosundeass wrote:!!!!IMPORTANT:
Install all the bob mod then config
: bobmods.config.modules.EnableGodModules = true
You have to set bobmods.config.modules.EnableGodModules in bobconfig to true for BobExtended to work.

Thanks. There was a mod that would not download due to a missing release date. I am guessing that is what this other mod is looking for so I found the folder with the mods in it and removed it. Thanks.

If that ever happens in the future, there is a way to disable the mods. Go into your mods folder (should be %AppData%/Factorio/mods on windows) and open up "mod-list.json" with Notepad, or any text editor. Scroll through the list until you see the name of the mod that's causing the problem. It will say

Code: Select all

"name": "(mod name would be here)",
"enabled": "true"
Change "enabled": "true" to "enabled": "false"
The mod will be disabled, without you having to go into the game or delete the mod.
If you do that and it still doesn't load, try disabling other mods.
