Locomotive fluid tank
Is it possible for making locomotive able to hold liquid? I'm trying to make locomotive that works by consuming oil.

Re: Locomotive fluid tank
I've been asking for support for this to be possible since version 0.10.x.

Re: Locomotive fluid tank
I'm thinking of making invisible fluid wagon or storage tank as a proxy for the locomotives, then update remaining energy on the locos according to how much liquid left in the tank. Liquid wagon has better refuelling animation but the game doesn't allow me to place them overlapping with the loco no matter what. If I set the proxy fluid wagon collision_mask = {} then the game just crashed whenever another train part overlaps with the fluid wagon.
Re: Locomotive fluid tank
Definitely needs to be added. Some maps have sparse crude oil spots.
Re: Locomotive fluid tank
Why not use a tank as proxy?
Maybe you can reuse some stuff from the railtanker mod.
Or just burn barrels with oil...

Re: Locomotive fluid tank
I basically see fuel blocks as... a cube shaped bottle of oil. Because, that's basically what it is in where it is used.

Re: Locomotive fluid tank
Well, I want to make something entirely different gameplay wise, so making oil barrels have fuel value doesn't really seems all that different from vanilla.
