Turret target list

Would it be possible to add either a parameter to turrets that lists all types of entities that they'll engage or a category of turrets that has that ability?

Something where it would be a lot easier (& UPS efficient) to make turrets that specifically target spawners, worms, and buildings (for PvP)? I know there are a handful of mods out there now that add specific-target turrets, but it seems like they have to keep shot times pretty long to avoid crippling lag :/.

Compared to what? That's pretty much all turrets target now.

I think the original meaning was exclusive, i.e. spawners, worms or buildings.
A list of entities the turret will attack, so you could make turrets that only target mobile enemies by setting the proposed entity list to biter/spitter units.

Being able to set turrets to target by enemy type (biter, spitter, worm etc) would be really useful I think.

Especially to make turrets made to kill spitters that wouldn't target melee biters. Special long range turrets to target bases would be also useful but I understand that targetting might be problem due to performance.

Well, right now, the turrets attack anything that's enemy within their range. When I said the above, I meant as something that would only target those while ignoring bitters, spitters, enemy players, or enemy force units.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at, albeit inverted. I'd probably use it to only target static buildings & defenses ;).

Yeah, that's basically what I intended. Although, I think it would be easier to have turrets target entity categories instead.
