The number of bombs that can be in the chest would be limited, maybe because it has similar storage capacity to a wooden chest? Maybe different tiers of chest would counteract this, with higher storage capacities for each tier.
The explosion would be scaled up with each nuke added, and if the chest is full the explosion would be pretty large, equivalent to 9.6kT of TNT (Based on the 48 storage space of a steel chest, and the stack size of 10 for atomic bombs)
The engineer would have to be careful with handling this chest o' nukes, as it wouldn't be able to be replaced, so he/she would need to be wise with where they use it.
