crash on startup 0.16.3

i ran the game through steam. it got to loading sprites 89% on the loading screen and then a window came up telling me to report the bug on the forum.
this is the first time i have ever run the game in firescreen.
i put the long file in but was not sure what you needed from the saves folder and i don't know how to compress my mods folder to attach it but i turned off my mods when playing 0.15
i am willing to try to help out more if this was not enough if you need me to. ill look at the forum a few more times this week if you need me.

I'm having the same issue, i.e. 0.16.3 crashing upon startup, at around 90% of the loading bar. I restarted the game 3 times, every time it crashes at that point (just based on eye-balling that progress-bar). Attached my log file as well. I have no *active* mods besides, just vanilla (though I do have a few in the mods-folder).

As a quick test I moved all those inactive mods completely out of the mods-folder, but I'm still getting the same crash

I broke texture compression in 0.16.3. I am sorry. The patch will come out today.
