[1.1.80] Crash when deconstructing invalid requester chest

TLDR: Full requester chest has duplicate item requests and deconstructing it crashes the game.


What did you do?
I built a chest from BP with duplicated item requests. (two slots with identical request)
Deconstructing the logistic network ( last roboport / last such chest ) crashed the game.

What happened?
It originally occurred on COMFY Mtn Fortress server, the server along with all the players' game instances crashed (repeatedly). This was not exactly a modded game but it is a complicated scenario. I repeated the crash in vanilla game.

What did you expect to happen instead?
I expected the BP to not change, the game to not crash or some warning about the BP.

Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
The crash happens always.

If you can reproduce the issue provide the exact steps!
  1. Load the attached save file.
    bad bp example.zip
    (2.7 MiB) Downloaded 25 times
  2. Use deconstruction planner on the requester chest.
  3. The game should crash now.
Notes
I copied a BP book, my copy probably got corrupted, since the original differs. The problematic BP has weird requests set for requester chests (where original requests 50 modules T1, 50T2, 50T3, my BP requests 50T2, 50T2, nothing)


I copied the BP as part of a BP book. I'm pretty sure I didn't touch it or modify it. However, I did play Seablock mod pack between copying the BP book and encountering the issue.

The BP also claims to contain modded content.

I managed to find a workaround to avoid the crash:
  1. Copy the bad chest as a BP and paste it nearby.
  2. Build on the ghost.
  3. Deconstruct the bad chest and then deconstruct the new chest.
  4. For some reason, it doesn't crash this way.
On the multiplayer server, there were at least 11 players, so the affected hardware should be pretty diverse.

When trying to replicate the crash, the requester chest sometimes didn't crash when it wasn't full before deconstruction.

The save file has both the correct and the wrong BPs in a wooden chest.
