[1.1.96] Input lag

In every multiplayer game I have played, there has been lag, but I have never experience the amount of lag I do in this game, specifically input lag when driving the car. It is so bad on some occasions that it take 2 seconds for the car to start turning after I press the button which means I usually crash straight into every rock and tree and hive in the map and everyone I have spoken to has the exact same issue and simply just do not use vehicles at all. I would like to please know why this is, if it is a bug or a suggestion for improvement or if it is just hard coded into the way the game registers between clients. The delay should be registered on the server end, not the client end.

A great example would be in Counter strike if it took 2 full seconds for my camera to pan or my character to start moving after I moved the mouse or pressed the keyboard. It would be completely unplayable. What happens in reality is that you see the enemy 2 seconds after he has seen you, so you shoot at his head and nothing happens because you are already dead on the server end. You don't actually see your character take 2 full seconds to respond to an input command, so the lag is not as noticeable. So why does the lag feel so bad in this game?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I am not trying to be mean or disrespectful so please don't take what I say the wrong way.
