Hi,
I know the post is probably rinced and repeated a million times over, but i was trying to search something comparable and wasn't able to.
To cut to the point then. I'm playing Krastorio2 + SpaceEX + small QoL mods on a server with a friend (i'm a client, he is hosting).
The save game is very advanced (about 460 hours in) - multiple factories on different planets + spaceships flying about.
For a long time now, i get persistent FPS drops after about 2-3 hours spent on the server. The game totally chugs (about 5 FPS at times) while doing seemingly nothing.
Spec:
RTX4070 Super
Ryzen 7 2700X
32 GB - 4x8 DDR4 CL16
MSI x470 Gaming Plus
750W PSU with Gold eff rating
300Mbit connection (30Mb/s down - 2Mb/s up)
A random screenshot from the game while the problem persists:

As you can see, there is some stuff happening, but not a crazy amount.
I've also hosted a save file if someone finds this problem interesting. It is from about 2 weeks back, but we've only scored about 10 game hours since then and the problem has persisted for much longer.

Important note - the problem doesn't seem to persist when the game is played via singleplayer iirc.
PS: Another screen made with more visible debug info. I did reconnect to the server in the meantime and this time through direct IP (not Steam)

[1.1.107] modded - Low FPS/High UPS
Re: [1.1.107] modded - Low FPS/High UPS
This is the classic “you can’t keep up with the server so your game drops FPS to keep up”
You can slow down the game with /c game.speed = 0.9, or what ever smaller numbers works for you. As you build more and more you will fall behind the server more and likely need to lower the speed even more.

Thank you,
Yes, i've found a similar reply in the meantime and we tried the command with 0.9. It helped. I just can't wrap my head around one thing. How can both of us smoothly run the singleplayer instance with 60/60 and yet one of us is faster in multiplayer? How come, seemingly, my 60 FPS is slower than his 60 FPS xD Unless the game is dynamically adjusting the sim speed when playing singleplayer.
Unless also i'm just hallucinating and i wasn't actually running my instance on 60 FPS consistently. I guess i will need to double check my memory.
Best regards,

Multiplayer is more expensive compared to single player.

Re: [1.1.107] modded - Low FPS/High UPS
I have the same issue, but it is because my DDR3-1866 LRDIMMS are running in 6-channel mode and my DDR5-5200 UDIMMS are in dual-channel mode, so my server is much faster theoretically due to a high bandwidth, also, my DDR5 has a cas of 40, or something like that, whereas my xeon server has a cas of 12. Also, to what Wube has told me, the server does not render graphics, so it will process faster in a way. I just do not understand why this game relies on DRAM latency instead of CPU cycles. I tend to do things way out of "manufacturer specs" as well with this game with huge values and insane beacons with insane stats.
