Hi,
I've only started since 1.0 so I do not have along history of patch/update/testing Factorio. I am playing (passionatly!) the game in 1.0 on Steam, and have downloaded the "manual/zip" development versions for test.
I only intend to play copies of 1.0 games on the new version, testing the new functionalities, and thus not save them back to the 1.0 home. I have found the save files, but rather than spending on lots of time to re-invent-re-reverse engineer the save files layout, what have you found as a "simple yet effective" way to copy keyboards shortcuts from the production 1.0 home to the experimental home? Ditto the blueprint book. I am wondering if there are other settings I will miss.
I am playing very plain vanilla - not a single mod.
Windows 10
1.0 home is D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Factorio with the savefiles at C:\Users\msqua\AppData\Roaming\Factorio\saves
1.1.6 home is D:\Factorio_1.1.6 with the saves at D:\Factorio_1.1.6\saves

Re: Testing new version - copy settings from old
The files you want are in a seperate folder. Not in any of the save zips.
achievements.dat -> Obvious.
blueprint-storage.dat -> Obvious.
player-data.json -> Shortcut button layout (right of quickbar)
config.ini -> Keyboard shortcuts and everything from the settings menu.
