Can I enable filter as soon as I lay down the inserter?

As title.

In Space Age, there are a lot of builder and storage that would store many kind of items. Such as the space platform hub.

Every time when I put a inserter next to it, it immediately take out random items from the storage. I have to quickly click on it and switch on the filter.

To avoid that I have 2 solutions:

1. Place the inserter in wrong direction, set the filter, then rotate it to the intended direction
2. Place it somewhere nearby, set the filter, then cut/paste it to the right position.

Both work, but still quite annoying. Is there any shortcut to enable filter as soon as I lay it down?

Don't think there is a way to do that. That might be a nice idea to suggest in Ideas and Suggestions subforum. Something like a modifier key that buildings can use to switch some setting when placed.

Until that happens, it might be a good idea to keep a blueprint of an inserter with empty filter on.

i have a blueprint with an inserter that has "filter" enabled and no filter, and i'm pasting it when needed, it spare the step of having to find a spot to place it in crammed platforms or rotate it, which can be problematic when it can grab things from every neighbour tile
