i know now i cant with smart chests, i can do it with rail cars not had chance to try with provider chests

Power poles and signal wires also use copper wire, but those are rarely automated due to low demand and fast crafting.

And yes, once you have Red Science, you should work directly on automating Green Science.
There's not much to benefit from between Red and Green to justify focusing on things outside the scope of getting Green going.
This assumes you've already gotten to the over-supply point on basic resources, have started smelting stone, and have started deploying *some* turrets and *some* ammo.
If you haven't gotten to those points before finishing Red automation, those should be your immediate goals, but still focusing on Green automation.
