i wonder if it makes sense to have a kind of color-scheme for different tasks and working groups in bigger multiplayer games.
like red for attack/defense,
cyan for iron-smelting,
pink for copper,
green for construction ,
white for planning (shift-constructing),
black for power...
that would be cool .
allthough i think it would be better to give the cool colors to the bad jobs.
any suggestions for how to form the swarm??
dedicated colours in multiplayer ; form the swarm

Re: dedicated colours in multiplayer ; form the swarm
I dream of playing factorio with an organized team of 30+ players... Each player has his or her own role, be it resource collection (split into iron, copper, coal and oil), train networking, a main bus team split into science/module production and everything else production, a military squad for defence and enemy neutralization etc...
Each squad would share their own coms channel, with a member of each squad communicating to one specific project manager who ensures main bus gets the product they need, and resource collection has adequate train networking to move the resources...
The opportunity for sub 2 hour rocket launch with a larger group of players, or the capability of building and maintaining huge factories is a dream of mine that will probably never happen .

Moved to suggestions.
My idea about this:
viewtopic.php?f=38&t=32783&p=206820&hil ... 2A#p206820
Commands
Leaders can set targets, draw and plan on map and have commands to drop/ban/close/invite users from/into squad.
All players can open a window/info with all squads and see on minimap the squad leaders as "bigger" points and the members as much smaller points.
Squad member see all other members as big points and the leader as "star" or something and other squads as above.
Eventually there is simplified game mechanics to exchange items between squad members.

Commands
Code: Select all
/squad create Super_Noobs "We break it all!"
/squad leader ßilk
/squad motto "Let's go hunting"
/squad join Super_Noobs
-> Note: If you join a squad, chat is then per default only into the squad-chat!
/squad leave
-> Chat is per default into the whole force again.

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
