You see some ore a little from your base, some biters, across a lake. What do you do?
Do you:
- Collect some wall
- Grab your fast car
- Mine through 4 layers of stone
- Place down the stone
- Drive out to the site
- Realize that there's almost no yield
- Drive back
- Dig through the wall
- Replace the wall
Or:
- Strap on a jetpack
- Grab some fuel
- Fly out there
- Realize no yield
- Fly back
To balance it, of course, it would need to be a mid-end item, maybe running on oil, where it would be most useful; everything from destroying spawners to setting up railways becomes a lot less tedious, and more fun, because who doesn't like jetpacks?

I would love a Jumppack. Even without full flight it would make running around easier.

I think a jetpack isn't a good idea, cause it makes the character too mighty. And it isn't needed, cause I think something like a control center will be introduced instead.

A jetpack in a 2D game without height is quite weird, also I dont find it necessary to do it. And it isnt as easy as it seems, different entities would neet to have different heights and what height does the jetpack fly at?.

Already the player character too much is a one-man-death-machine.

One use I could see for it would be the same benefit Logistics/Construction bots have; they fly, and don't get blocked by buildings and walls. So if you had a jetpack, you could have the same benefit.
