Hi,
Every day some poor, undeserving player gets killed unexpectedly while crossing a railroad while some freight trains comes barreling down the rails at full speed without regards. Trains are a menace to health. That needs to be stopped.
I suggest building a railroad crossing so players can pass safely across rails. This could have several forms:
1) Simple lights that would blink when a train comes near. Nearness could be gotten by connecting stations and signals to the network and monitor for trains entering the segment of rails the crossing is at. Would mean stations/signals outputing a signal (code change) and putting in lots of wires along the rails (players job). The blinking is the players job too. You've got a signal, do whatever you want with it.
2) Same as 1 but with guards that get lowered when activated. Could be gates that open/close on signal. Or refuse to open when approached from one side when a train (signal) is near.
3) an actual railroad crossing building with it's own train signals. Trains would stop while a player is on the crossing.
What do you think?
