Just dont flip parts and make user press shift to allow the flipable thigns to flip.

Well if they let us pick which inputs and outputs accepted and produced which fluids, then you could literally flip a blueprint.
And I wouldn't hook crude to the wrong input every. goddamn. time.

I support this idea, i liked the flipping that KBM had and i used it without many problems, fluids and trains.. ok but it is still less painful than doing everything again, you can flip sections and copy-paste.

Add reflect button(s) to blueprint editor
I love Factorio. I must do because I've spent over 3000 hours playing it.
I have a suggestion for a new feature for the blueprint editor GUI. This feature would add a button (or two) to the blueprint editor to reflect the blueprint in the horizontal or vertical axis.
Why would I want this? I currently maintain multiple copies of many of my blueprints that are identical except parts (or all of it) have a different orientation. Rotating the blueprint is fine. But this often leaves many elements still in the wrong place or wrong orientation. So, I either have to place the blueprint then edit it on the ground which can be rather laborious. Or just recreate it in the different orientation. Then I have two (or more) blueprints that have different orientations just to handle where certain things may need to go or be coming from. It would save a tremendous amount of time (for me, anyway) to be able to just "reflect" the blueprint on the X (horizontal) or Y (vertical) axis or both. This would save me time recreating blueprints and maintaining many simillar blueprints with different orientations. I don't think a Factorio session goes by without me wishing I could reflect a blueprint left/right or up/down.

Just a bump/+1 to this suggestion. I understand there might be some problems implementing it, but there should be a way to mirror at least inserters when pasting designs and blueprints.

Try these with the new blueprints: pull a blueprint from the library to the toolbar (and *NOT* to the inventory, but I hate you can't do that, anyway). Then flip/mirror. Or try. Mirroring blueprints
I think, that only feature i need is mirroring blueprint. What if i press alt and BP is mirroring horizontaly? Its would be very useful i think. Especially for more aesthetic symmetry base design.

Often suggested, everytime denied due unmirrorable entities like train stops or refineries.
I still vote for deny flip if such entities are in the blueprint else just do it.

Nice to know that if all the players ask for a feature, it is a stupid idea and there is a lot of technical reasons it cannot be implemented but when Kovarex decides he wants it, it suddenly a great plan and it can be implemented in a day.FFF-364 wrote:But then kovarex was playing and really really wanted to just copy and flip his train unloading setup (just your typical Inserters, chests, and belts).
