Search for resource patch names on the map?

The mod pack I am currently playing has a lot of differente resources. I am having trouble simply spotting them (even though I have already explored/radar-scanned the map). Some of the patch colors (on the overview map) are actually *exactly* the same as regular map colors - they are not only hard to see but actually invisible on the overview.

Is there a mod which lets me find a specific type of patch on the overview map *without revealing the fog of war* or otherwise cheating? Simply a helper to avoid me sitting hunched in front of the monitor and scanning the screen pixel by pixel?

I found one mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/resourceMarker which goes in this direction but doesn't really suit me - it creates labels and icons for all the patches, which again will litter the whole map with a great many of them - it will be easier to find them, but then the overview map will be a great mess. viewtopic.php?t=22165 also mentiones it (from a colorblind person) but there doesn't seem to be a followup.
