Vanilla should adhere, as best as possible, to the conservation of "stuff". All power supplies ought to require fuel or sunlight.

I've honestly never used the PFR. I don't even know how it works. I'm not brand new to the game -- I had a megabase in 0.17 and am working on a new megabase now in 1.1.

I don't operate as a foot warrior though. On my current play through, I don't even have any defense bots or personal lasers. Just the exoskeleton, night vision, and personal roboport. All of my defense is from turrets, cars, tanks, artillery, and now the spider. I have a few solar panels and one personal battery MK2 and it barely goes down at all. I've just never needed anything else.

You put it in your armor and it creates power for free forever. It is exactly like the solar panels but it works all the time and is bigger.

I'm a bit surprised you happily run your personal roboport on solar and batteries. Even in peaceful games (which I am tending toward more) I much prefer 1-2 PFRs to the equivalent grid space of solar panels.

Love the pfr. I go from weak slow guy with no power to apex predator with lasers coming out of every direction and a force field. Thank you pfr :)

The solar panels are good in the early game, where I'd say modular armor is more for a small personal construction bot setup. Afterward they just become filler for those empty 1x1 spaces. If you have any that is.

You'd think that the enormous size space of PFR's would be inconvenient, but if you place them correctly you will always have even room on a power armor mk2; and most of the modular gadgets in this game have even dimensions. So this downside will never matter.
