Transport Belt Lane problem ( Solved )
Transport Belt Lane problem ( Solved )
Hey guys
The top lanes of each ore stone, iron, copper, are pretty much stuck. ( so the lanes on the top side pretty much never get used ) so the main bus line drys out unevenly.
(seems it doenst matter if i place a faster belt in the junction)
any suggetions or solutions?
-----------------------
Edit: the big question here is is it possible to merge two double sided belts, so both lanes will get used and not get stuck.
----------------------
Edit2:
as may some other guys read this, and for better understanding why i needed this.
( may not that usefull with ore but maybe with some other production lines )
Square NR1:
The blue line at the miners simulates an uneven belt wich would slow down the ore production. ( cause ive feeded two doulbe sided belts on one belt in a T - Junction via sideloading only one line from coal or ore would get used )
Wich is now not the case anymore and the ore cannot block 3 miners from stop mining.
Square NR3:
you will see the solution to get two double sided belts evenly feeded onto one belt. ( link http://factorioblueprints.com/view/ReiyTAoEqAsjQpPdx ) thanks to Rockstar04 for posting this
Square NR2:
Idont know if i really need the "balancer at NR2" ( i dont think i would need it cause the ore enters the belt evenly and gets now used evenly )
thanks for your help guys
--------------------
Edit:3
Ha based on the design iam now able to split a double sided belt into a single lane wich get´s also used evenly very useful for production.
( it can be a little more compact as shown in the image )

Re: Transport Belt Lane problem
You can use this construction to balance out the lanes:
It will equally distribute all incoming ore onto the new belt.
It will equally distribute all incoming ore onto the new belt.
Re: Transport Belt Lane problem
That's working as intended. When you sideload from a full belt, the "furthest back" half gets loaded and the "closer to the front" half can't load since something is already in it's way. It's not a problem, and it's actually quite useful if you want to do something like priority "only use coal if solid fuel is out" by sideloading coal into the solid fuel line.
So the one half of the belt's materials will only start flowing if the other half of the belt runs out. If this bothers you visually, you could just send half a belt of ore and coal to this area from your mining area.
Edit: In other words, if the lower half of your incoming belts run out of ore and coal, the top half will flow in, instead. They aren't stuck, they just have nowhere to output while it's already being filling by the lower half of those belts. Hope that's clear.

Re: Transport Belt Lane problem
I didn't know that underground belts can be fed directly by their side. Can I get the materials in the same way or do I have to add one tile of belt to turn left or right?Rockstar04 wrote:This is something I found on Factorio Blueprints

You can get the items on the exit point of an underground belt (with an inserter).
