This is from 0.13.6. The landscape is a great mix of different terrains, largely bordered to the north and west by huge lakes forming a water barrier except for a corridor towards the NW which will need to be guarded. More importantly, there is a great distribution of resources, with stone being a little more rare and copper and iron being quite abundant. There's only one group of oil spots, located about bottom middle of the image, but there are quite a few so it should be plenty for a decent oil industry. (There's also water nearby and small to medium coal and iron deposits-- should be handy for plastics, sulfuric, batteries, etc.)

There's a fair amount of room to build, although there are some heavy enemy concentrations further out.

Generated in v0.13.6 - Island Spawn, with (hopefully) enough resources to get to the mainland with Landfill! I'll be playing this map, and report back if it is possible to make it, but I can't see why not.

All of your resources (except oil) are close to your starting position, however, they are tiny resource patches. To get to the richer patches you have to battle through swarms of aliens.
The starting area is small, so you need to be very very careful with pollution. A boiler and 5-6 burner mining drills can begin to start pollution induced attacks.

This is my first time posting here. Tell me if I did anything wrong, or if should possibly post in a different section. So I recently came across this find of a spawn, or at least I think its a find. My only problem is trying to figure out how I would make my factory, especially at the start due to the locations of the 2 coal deposits and the copious amounts of Oil fields in the starting area. I also kinda want to see what others can do with this spawn hence why I want to share it. I guess I should note the only changes I did was change the Size for Iron and Stone to Big, and their Richness to Good.

@Hoeloe Um... 0.13 isn't out for the live version of the game. That is still experimental... Saving that string though. Looks fun. Did you have "Aliens Don't attack first" checked? Would explain why you haven't been attacked yet. Possibly.

As you can see Aliens somehow group up on the left side, seems like Pathfinding does not bring them to me. Actually the northern continets are connected, but it's a huge detour for them. The far right spawner is not in reach of the polution yet. I did not checked "Aliens attacke first", they attack me when i get close. Meanwhile i cleaned up a bit, builded up a defense on the right side. But since nothing there is even close to my factory and polution nothing attacks me.

Damn that is some serious luck in where the aliens spawned... Totally saving that string for later now because it looks fun! Good luck with your future defense building! I'm gonna have to wait for all the goodies that 0.13 brings to hit live to enjoy that. Whenever I try using random map generation I usually get screwed with lack of iron, or stone. Or the huge patches are just too damn far away to make it work in the early game. So I usually ramp up stone and iron in either density or size (or both very slightly and still get shitty luck in rmg).

Yeah, I know, map gen algo is still being tweaked/changed/fiddled with. Still... after I just got my first island map (unplayably tiiiiny island), I was interested in playing an island.

You can usually get big ore patches near the starting area if you increase the size and richness, but I didn't expect to find three different oil areas there, making the total number of oil patches > 80.

Hi there,

This is my first post and so I thought I'd share the exchange string for the map I just started. The map has copper, iron, oil, stone and uranium all within sight on spawn. The string is 10 seconds into the game.
I created the map in 0.14.21 using everything on normal / regular and then upgraded to 0.15.13 - if you want the map on 0.14.21 then the seed is 203547 otherwise here's the exchange string - for the map picture I did run south a bit to show the extra oil.

**Edit*** - My apologies - the map exchange string below is useless in 0.15.* - Even though it's the one generated by the game after the move from 0.14 to 0.15 it does not produce the same topography as the map I'm playing This map is officially 0.14
