Biters will chew through the trees to get to you, I think.ritonlajoie wrote:Hi guys
I'm trying this beautiful mod.
I wonder, it seems the trees everywhere won't let bitters attack me. Is there a way to change this ?
Cutting trees is nice, but if having trees everywhere around me = never getting attacked, I wonder how...
I tried changing the 'chance' setting, but it's not helping :p

How does it affect biter expansion? Will they clear trees to make new nests?

I was wondering if there was a way to make toxic Jungle not spawn trees on sand unless it was within several meters of water (or making only the green coral spawn on sand)?
PC is best.

Is this mod working on existing save-games and multiplayer?

It does work on multiplayer. As for existing saves, it'll start working in newly generated land.boksiora wrote:Is this mod working on existing save-games and multiplayer?
Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Toxic Jungle
While this mod is a great idea, in practice it doesn't seem to work and generally ruins the game. The trees are too thick, even when changing the default config's spawn chance from 0.6 to 0.2 Biters can't get through the trees and neither can your pollution, making the game essentially as if peaceful mode was turned on. Clearing trees simply became a grind of building poison capsules and upgrading shotgun fire rate as I played through an entire game with this mod in a with a friend. On top of this, the largest attack we ever got hit with was 3 small biters in the 25 hours we played from start to rocket. To the mod creator, I suggest turning down the tree spawn rate greatly, and having the mod only affect the forest biome.

I would love to try this mod (Don't really care about Bitters).
I have a few questions:
What do you do with all the excess wood?
Do you store it?
Burn it? (Wouldn't you need a product being produced to burn all that wood?)

Re: [MOD 0.12.x] Toxic Jungle
The mod seems to work with 0.13 with just a couple of tiny changes:
1) remove require "defines" from control.lua
2) add "factorio_version": "0.13" to the list in info.json
I've attached the version I updated to this comment for anyone who is too lazy to do the changes themselves.

I downloaded this mod with version 0.14.21 and the forests are hardly dense
As you can clearly see I downloaded it with the newsets version on the ingame mod installer
