My issue is that priority splitters don't seem to act as they should. For example, even with perfect input, my output lanes are being choked. Sometimes this happens at the same time as another issue, the priority splitters not letting a belt become saturated and instead letting items bleed through onto another lane.
The parameters are "read belt contents" for the two input belts in each contraption and "enable/disable when anything > 12" on all the blocked output belts. This pertains to every setup and I've detached and laid out each set of of priority splitters/shufflers/balancers in the screenshots.
The way I've been able to recreate the issue is to change what items are coming through the priority splitters from the input side, saturated the output belts then allowing them to move again (simulate movement of the belt/use items on the belt so more can move through splitters, just generally disrupting the priority splitters and belt movement. Even changing the output belt parameters to marginally different values can cause the issue.
Edit: For some reason, using this setup, I haven't been able to recreate any of the issues. The parameters are the same except for the output belt being set all the way up to a signal of 54. I would still like to know if this is a glitch and why it is happening.
2nd edit: I've managed to recreate one of the issues without any of the wiring The easiest way to replicate the above glitch is just to hook everything up however you like with creative sources on one end and voids on the other, let all items flow through full (2 compressed input belts, 2 compressed output belts all the way to the void) the quickly destroy the voids and replace them in whichever order (top-bottom, bottom-top, happens either way.)
3rd edit: reddit thread for more information

"priority splitters"? what? There is no such thing in the base game. You'll need to talk to the mod author of what ever mod(s) you're using.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

It isn't a mod, but just a way of wiring up belts and splitters with the circuit conditions...
I suspect however, that this probably isn't a bug, and just an oversight in the design of the specific setup he's using

What do you mean by this? See my edit where I recreate the issue without any of the wiring.Klonan wrote: I suspect however, that this probably isn't a bug, and just an oversight in the design of the specific setup he's using

The problem is, that you did not show that the fact that your setup is not working as you intended is caused by the game mechanics not working as the developers intended.Sinehmatic wrote:What do you mean by this? Meanwhile your edit shows this issue: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=35743.

Ah, yes you're right. So as the game stands, there's no way to get a perfect read from only two belts without stuttering which slows down throughput or without ruining prioritized belt saturation. The problem is, that you did not show that the fact that your setup is not working as you intended is caused by the game mechanics not working as the developers intended.
Will the devs ever deal with the sideloading stuttering issue?
