When i get to after the oil processing part of the game, i tend to set up my factory is a train-modular type. small bases that only makes or does 1 type of work,e.g. circuits or smelting only, and have the input and output move by trains. i know this is not efficient but i get to use LOTS of trains and my playthrough is like im building a city.
With that said, it is hard to keep track if anything is not working in one of the bases when it is far and there are so many of them.
What i am requesting is a some sort of notifications or warning system using combinators and circuit networks that will send notifications to you where ever you are. something like a pager.
Here are some scenarios that could this this useful:
Crude oil runs out -> cant do oil cracking -> cant make solid fuel -> no fuel for boilers -> no power -> everything shuts down.
No processing unit production cuz no fuel for smelters
when something is wrong most of the time the cause is further down the chain and the cause could run for a while before the result is noticed. By then it is gonna take a while to fix it and have your factory running smoothly again.

Re: [Request] Circuit notifications
There are pile of them, like https://mods.factorio.com/mods/Nexela/CircuitAlerter
