How did you discover Factorio?

I often think of this because I discovered factorio only be over hearing its name by some kids, it makes me think that I almost missed out on something great.

if my memory serves me i found out about factorio couple of years ago in some youtube video. downloaded it to try myself, fell in love with it and purchased it right away. couple of years and countless hours later still loving it.

It was listen as an example in a few articles about video game tropes which I was reading, and it sounded interesting so I read through it's page... liked the concept so much that I went and tried the demo (this was before steam release) and then I liked the demo so much that I bought the game!

A friend of mine was playing factorio. He backed the indiegogo campaign.
I saw him playing it and it looked interesting. He gave me the game (I think it was an early version of 0.12 or maybe even 0.11).
I liked it and bought it just before factorio got released on steam.

I discovered Factorio through the Better than Wolves forum, a forum for a (kind of almost industrialisation) minecraft mod.
This was back in 0.9
