The larger a factory becomes, the harder it is to oversee everything.
Sometimes (important) assembly-machines run out of raw-material, sometimes trains are stuck, sometimes you just want to know when "300 Construction-Drones" are available to be released.
This could be solved by ingame-mechanics. An Item working under the known rules of the circuit Network for generating a "Message with icon" (compare to Logistik-Network-Messages)
would be awesome (Maybe with options: "Hold" and "Pulse for X minutes"):

There is this super useful alert combinator mod, which does exactly that. I used it now a lot and it is really helpful to get messages if here are less than 3 coal on the belt to the burners for steam. Defitely support to implement something similar into the game, cause it is really fun to install such an alert and be warned in the right moment, so you feel success that it really works.
(All that mod needs is a threshold to avoid multiple warnings per second.)

Well, on the second image, it displays a message, and in the text above you can read " set whether the sound should be heard in that part of the factory or across the entire map and add an optional GUI alert message".
