Everything turns green

My game randomly started tinting my saved game (I've been playing on the map for ~12 hours) green. It occurs every time at the same point in the game regardless of what I am doing and nothing seems to change everything back. It does go away several minutes later (again regardless of what I am doing). Also to add, this happens every few minutes (cycling).

Does it only happen when it starts getting dark? It sounds like the night vision goggles...

So it appears... I had not even unlocked them yet but I let my friend play and it appears he researched them and stuck them in my armor (and I never noticed).
