[bug report] bob's inserters not working after today's patch

Existing inserters work fine, but placing new inserters ignore the GUI rules and the "long handed" pickup/dropoff etc

I installed bob's inserters to try it out. But, either I don't understand how it works, or it simply doesn't work for me.
Why don't any of the inserters I place move any items? Not even simply placing a default inserters does any inserting for me. Existing inserters still work, but new ones don't.

What am I doing wrong?

Ok, turns out, I'm an idiot (surprise, surprise).
I forgot to take out the black bottles, so the machine was full and wouldn't take any new resources.
