Hello,

I am french user, in my keyboard the natural go top shortcut is "Z".
When i want to fill entities (for example with coal) i made CTRL +Z + left/rigth click.
This combo undo a lot of previous construction and just stop my factory.

From now i prefer unbind undo function that keep it.

I don't know if you can do something about this but i this you whant to know it.

Hey, thanks for the report.
What would you suggest as replacement shortcut for undo functionality for French players?

Hi, not OP, but French player. Actually this issue is hard to prevent, as we also do use Ctrl-Z to undo on a regular basis.
I would vote for Ctrl-W, but all French players should express themselves, because there is no real optimal solution, I think.

Like say Koub there is no real good option and vote must be the best way to do.

Maybe a CTRL + SHIT +Z, I will try some when i unlock robotport (tomorrow normally) and made a summary.

As Koub says, CTRL + Z is our natural shorcut for Cancel too.

Maybe the problem is CTRL for pickup (and not Z key) as CTRL is expected to be used with another key in "normal" ways

I've already commented at length on the relevant FFF forum thread that Ctrl+W is a more natural shortcut for Undo on AZERTY...

Sadly, it seems that there's nothing that Wube can easily do about it, which wouldn't mess with QWERTZ users even more (switching Undo and Redo !)

So I guess that we'll just have to update our keyboard shortcuts...

I felt into this [non] bug this morning as I can't wait to try this new (looking amazing) Factorio version.

Usually (at least for Azerty users), Undo is bound to Ctrl+Z and Redo to Ctrl+Shift+Z (or Ctrl+Y sometimes, it depends on software).

Since there is no "Redo" feature on Factorio ... may-be Ctrl+Shift+Z is a good choice.
Saying that does not put Ctrl+W at worse choice.

Since there is an alternated binding available in Factorio, may-be defining both should be a 50-50 solution ^_^'

TL;DR: French here => Ctrl+W prefered (undo is less important than run+fill)

Yes, I am french and used to Ctrl+Z but all in all, i would prefer to have to search for the undo shortcut and discover in the control settings that it is set to Ctrl+W rather than observing a very strange behavior in-game that I couldn't explain until now.

Indeed, tried to fill miners with coal using Ctrl while moving towards the north; I couldn't move, then I found several buildings with the red cross for deconstruction over them...

Also... highlighting conflicting shortcuts in red could be of use.

Thanks for the reports,
in 0.17.2, Undo will default to Ctrl+W on AZERTY keyboard
