[0.17.0] Crash in campaign placing Offshore Pump: "this->handPosition == NO_ITEM_STACK_INDEX was not true"

I completed the first part of the campaign, then moved to the east to continue with part 2.

Found the water and got the instruction to place an offshore pump.

Opened the inventory and selected the pump, the game froze then crashed.

Loaded the save-rebuild file and tried again with the same result.
