[0.17.4] Add zooming functionality to the blueprint preview
Single tile entities in large blueprints get incredibly small and are really hard to click. The difference between a greyed out entity and a normal one is also kind of hard to see

Re: Blueprint Edit - Ability to Zoom In/Out
Let's give this a nudge, because I've wanted this for aaaaages.
Re: Blueprint Edit - Ability to Zoom In/Out
Agreed with the request for a zoom ... and also the ability to edit, even if that ability is limited (add/remove objects but without actual processing in the machines)
Re: Blueprint Edit - Ability to Zoom In/Out
Using "train station" Bp and more larger BP sometimes : +1

Re: Blueprint Edit - Ability to Zoom In/Out
I want to list my features of this suggestion:
- instead of current “edit”-mode a real editor (technically placing blueprint on empty surface), like the blueprint-lab mod.
- optionally: in that editor enable to stop time in the “real” world
- optionally: like in blueprint lab mod, give player possibility to test the blueprint. Or make it at least simple modable, so that new blueprint-editor-features can be added
- on that edit-surface give player the ability to place/delete any item she/he wants, instead of only delete/undelete
- place and save any other blueprint from here
- player on that surface works like in god-mode
- optionally: during a game this surface doesn’t forget until you clean it. When you enter that surface without clearing, you appear at a new place, but your old constructions are still there.
- optionally: provides mirroring-mode and helps solving problems with symmetry, provides shifting-mode for rails and shows/helps with those problems.
- shows theoretical max. usage/production of electricity, max. Item production/usage, min. Standby power...
- optionally: a mode to “write” letters down to the surface
- control slice, what screenshot of the blueprint will be taken
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Re: Blueprint Edit - Ability to Zoom In/Out
Here's a blueprint I was wanting to edit. Can't feasably be done, x number of years we'll all have implants in our eyes to zoom in no doubt, but I think adding the option to the game will be far quicker
This is a really needed feature
Pretty please <3

Oh, this feature was not added.
Re: [0.17.4] Add zooming functionality to the blueprint preview
Yes, this is my biggest feature wish. Seems like something basic that is missing among all the great functionality of the blue print editor... it's not ergonmic not being able to zoom in to large blueprints in order to edit details. The map section of Train Interface supports zoom and pan... why not the bp? Please add for 1.1 or 1.x
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: [0.17.4] Add zooming functionality to the blueprint preview
What’s would add most gameplay-value is a blueprint editor. Like the blueprint editor mod (which sucks when you try to edit big bp).

Hm.
If Tips and Tricks would become so powerful and interactive as mentioned in FFF would it be possible to edit BP in that interactivity?
Just a thought.

Suggestion: The ability to zoom in on blueprints for editing
TL;DR
Blueprints are great; editing them is a hassle; zooming would help. What ?
Once you create a blueprint, editing is quite tedious. It would help if it was possible to zoom in on a blueprint while you are editing. Why ?
In the image you can see my cousin's city block; it's wonderful, but it has a few small flaws that I can't see while holding the blueprint. I hope that I am not alone in this.Thank you, whether or not this is considered.

There is a vast cloud of ideas around a blueprint editor.

Re: Suggestion: The ability to zoom in on blueprints for editing
Would be quite easy if done similarly to tipps:
An edit button teleports into a world filled with lab tiles with the blueprint pre built
A Save button takes you back and saves the updated blueprint

Well, there is a mod
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Blueprint-Editor
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Kux-BlueprintEditor
Dunno, how that works, but it looks more like a blueprint filter. And it makes me suspicious, that the second is marked as republished from the first.
And there was a mod
https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Edit-Blueprints
I remember this one, that was, what we are talking about here, but it had real problems with bigger blueprints.

Zoom in blueprints
With big blueprints it is hard to remove things by hand. Zoom would help with that.

it took me 5 seconds to find a similar thread, but 30 to merge that post into this older one — ssilk

Re: Blueprint Edit - Ability to Zoom In/Out
Pan and zoom controls for blueprints would be a fantastic QoL change. Particularly if you're working with things like train stations or nuclear plants.
