Alien Bases Spawning

WHY!!! I had a sprawling complex, with production just over consumption! Then, alien bases started spawning, close.... within hundreds of blocks. Not old ones showing up, new ones, ones that are bigger and badder than before... What is happening and how can I fix this?

Bases will spawn over time. Also, biters "evolve" over time as well.

It sounds like you need to focus a little more on defense and securing your factory.
