Re: Mod suggestion?
I suggest you to just take a look at every mod you are interested in to get own impressions what these mods do.
And don't forget, you can (nearly) always add new mods to an existing game, or remove them, as long as they are not integrated into complex mechanisms of your facility.

... Definitely time to reorganize the mods-board...
I want to link also some mods together and "Beginner Mods" was one idea.
(
The others was
- Useful stuff
- Trains & Transport
- Circuits & Combinators
- To the weapons!
- New Mods ( I currently don't know how to make that)
More categories or own list of categories are welcome, I search currently for inspiration

Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Re: Mod suggestion?
To Ssilk:
You could maybe have a UI Changes mods section. This could include things like the bigger inventories mod...
I know that people don't say this enough so I will: Thank you for all of your help with the forum!

No, I'm not a piece of cheese!
Re: Mod suggestion?
Id recommend BOBs Mod the most, though I have to say that I completly rebalanced it for myself.(because its a balancing hell in my opinion)
Bobs mod is a nice addition of content(almost too much) but if you want tiered building progression and interesting resource processing, its the way to go.

Re: Mod suggestion?
The Mods I would recommend the most would be Upgrade underground belts, they give you more flexibility in laying belts.basically act like the underground pipes. And the next one would be RailTanker, allows you to move all your fluids by train.Landfill is another good mod for creating land where you need it. Blueprint-string is good for sharing blue prints across games and the forums. And FARL for automated rail laying.
Re: Mod suggestion?
Hello
Me again after 3 years i have time to play again. Now its 17.0 v.... wow
Is there a good modpack that is not huge? I tryed Oberpack 0.17 and its toooo much for me. Is there some modpack that doesnt change so much base game?

Re: Mod suggestion?
Vanilla modpack is a good point to start. How can you know what part of the game you want to improve when you don't know the current vanilla experience ?

Re: Mod suggestion?
That's a ancient thread indeed.
I can put together a huge list of mods, buut to not overwhelm you i would try to get only most useful in my opinion.
So there is my list of vanilla-friendly mods: -Just choose what you want.
Afraid Of the Dark (if you want more light)
Aircraft (nice planes for moving around and warfare)
Automatic Train Fuel Stop (if you wan't to have one fueling station, really easy to use)
Beautiful Bridge Railway (rails/signals/power poles buildable on water)
Big Brother (powerful radars and stuff)
Bottleneck (MUST HAVE! shows if there is any lazy factory that don't wan't to work)
Bulk Rail Loader (a cargo wagon [un]loader with a huge buffer mostly for ores, but you can set it to take anything works nice paired with "Miniloader")
Crafting Speed Research (just nice)
Dectorio (pretty things)
Disco Science (sing SEPTEMBER by Earth Wind & Fire (or insert your fav Disco music) With labs, just fancy colours when doing research)
Even Distribution (For me it's a must have, example take coal- hold ctrl - drag over some furnaces - every furnace get's same amount)
Factorissimo2 (you can shrink your whole base into some buildings, production halls)
Fill4Me (easier turret creep- inserts ammo from your inventory into a turret after placing it, also Fuel to a car, or furnace etc.)
Helmod (a planning tool for a big setups)
Infinite Invertory Research (also nice)
Long Reach (MUST HAVE ofc)
Miniloader (I can't live without you babe)
Nanobots (early construction bots, and TERMITES, tree eating bots)
Natural Evolution Enemies (Buff to the Biters , use at your own risk)
Orbital Ion Cannon (ultimate-biters-destroying-machines)
Pressurized Fluids (really handy and kinda cheaty mod, i love it, but not that useful in the vanilla, in opposite to my heavy modded games)
Rampant (CAUTION, YOU MAY GET DESTROYED BY ENEMY HORDES)
Squeak Through (also a Must Have)
Vehicle Snap (Reeaaaaly nice, helps a lot with driving a car, or a plane or whatnot)

Re: Mod suggestion?
I also recommend vanilla, at least for a start. There have been a lot of changes in the last 3 years.
