Wich game version runs your server?

I got the impression, that there are less public games than some months ago. I am not sure, whether that is because there really are less servers or because of servers lagging behind on updates...

I usually update to the latest experimentals a few hours or a day after release (unless regressions are found which might impact the running map).

We play in evenings after work and dinner. I don't want to spend time and effort every time on downloading a new zip on the server, unpacking it, renaming directories, and testing whether everything works without any changes. Then later, the upgrade becomes so large, that the bottleneck is the person I'm playing with: her laptop takes forever to install the game, and beyond a handful of versions, the delta updates take just as long.

And so we are 36 versions behind. I'm curious to try the new multiplayer combat code, want to show her my mega base that is currently on 0.17.54 (still have to find time to do the upgrade and account for the latest changes like sulfur for science instead of solid fuel), iirc the spit-on-water issue is fixed in the new version, and some other things that we can't do atm. But the old version is also enjoyable and it is just not worth the effort.

Always last possible version with Mods we Use ...
sometimes we switch to next version if Mods Update takes too long

but 100% must have are "Admin Tools" like for example Creative Mod xD
