Research overview pack filter

Post by hylke94 »

Hello devs,

The research overview screen is awesome since last GUI update and research queue. The coloring of the researches (yellow/orange/red/green) also really helps for a quick overview.
TL;DR
Make the researches filterable by science pack.
What?
I only have one suggestion/idea to add to this screen. Could there be filters to filter on the different science packs? By default they can all be selected, but they can be turned off with a click to hide all researches that requires that pack. Maybe even a button or switch to automatically select only the already researched packs? It would really help in the beginning and middle phase of a base.
The location of these filters, I'm not really sure. Maybe in the space left of the search button? All vanilla packs do fit here, and this row is empty except this one button.

It could also be a great help with mods like Krastorio, 30 science pack, bobs, to get a (more) clean overview of the available sciences that you could actual research. No idea how to display all the 37 packs from that mods, but if the design is good for the default 7, I'm happy :D.
Why?
To make the research overview clearer for beginners and "pros" with big mod packs.

Good idea !

Meanwhile, if you desperately need this functionality (and more), there's still the Research Queue mod :

Something like that indeed. Didn't search for a queue mod, because it's something different. And already implemented in base game. But filters like that I'm looking for indeed.
