the problem is circuit wires consume circuits but cannot be mined back into player inventory. this sort of breaks the game expectation that whatever we build can freely be torn down and reconstructed without a penalty other than the players' time.
additionally, copper wire may be mined from pole connections, if you'd like some additional evidence that this should be expected behaviour.

Makes life a lot easier. Only problem is if your inventory is full and you Q your selection it won't work. Just swap it with something in there all ready and Q out.

You had to cut the cable to length for whatever you used it for. It's now exactly the wrong length for any other future application, ever.

Best response I've read yet about it. It's for realism. There is all so the fact wires are free in blueprints, so perhaps balancing?
and why aren't copper wires free in blueprints? this is because building the pole required the wire.
