Opening another player's inventory (Use key) crashes/freezes
Opening another player's inventory (Use key) crashes/freezes
Opening another player's inventory with the use key (Default E) Freezes the game for both players, maybe crashing.
Re: Opening another player's inventory (Use key) crashes/fre
Just throwing in that my friend and I ran into this same issue, which makes the game unplayable in multiplayer.
The host was able to open his inventory just fine, but if the client player opened their inventory, the game would appear to lock up several seconds later. I was the host and I was still able to press escape and bring up the menu and such, but everything else was locked up, like the game was frozen in time. When the client disconnected, the game would resume normally. This happened on all four or five attempts we made to play multiplayer.

It seems like a lot of people are able to play multiplayer, yet this bug continues to happen to my friend and I, every time we try, making the game completely unplayable.
Has anybody managed to figure out how to keep it from happening?

Are you both running the 32 or 64 bit version?
Just an idea, that seems to be the reason for some of the disconnects if players have different versions.

Re: Opening another player's inventory (Use key) crashes/fre
Okay, so it turns out for my friends and I, this problem was silly and had nothing to do with opening our inventory. It just happened to occur after doing so, because I guess we would type to each other then.
For us, this problem was due to shift+spacebar pausing the game while chatting. It doesn't actually -tell- you the game is simply paused, nor did any of us know shift+spacebar was the pause hotkey, and I guess we press that combination of keys often when typing in proper english. Once we figured out that this was the actual cause of our issue and whoever accidentally did it just had to press shift+spacebar again to unpause it, the game ran much, much better, and we managed to play for quite a while with very few issues!

Good to hear that. Shift + pause will be disabled anyway in the 0.11.2 and it won't do anything while typing in the console either.Lorak wrote: For us, this problem was due to shift+spacebar pausing the game while chatting.
