cant find the mod-folder for .zip-mods

Hello guys,

i have a technical-problem with a mod here.

I'ved downloaded a mod on this webpage in a .zip-file, and i need to put it now in a mod-folder for Factorio.
My problem is, i couldnt found any mod-folder.

I play Factorio on Steam via Windows 10, 64 bit.

I always ask on Steam-Forum where to find this mod-folder and they said in %appdata%, somewhere under .../user/.
if i search via Windows-Searchtoolbar there is no %appdata% on my SSD.

when i use "search for game-files" in Steam it opens: (D:)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Factorio.
There is a "bin"-folder, a "data"-folder, a "doc-html"-folder and a config-path.cfg
If i open the "data"-folder it shows me two new folders, called "base" and "core" which contains important game-files.
But even there is no mod-folder.


I downloaded the mod here (on the webpage) in a zip-file because i want to modificate the mod itself, for private use only; so a download in the InGame-ModInstaller is not an option.

Pls help me, i got very stucked and pls... explain it for really stupid people like me ...

The folder is "mods" not "mod" and you need to create it yourself or download something from the mod portal.

i downloaded many mods from the InGame-Modportal, but they are not shown there.


and where do i need to create the "mods"-folder?
