[0.11.7] Can not load sprites

I've been playing this version for a while now, but all of a sudden i can't play anymore, the loading bar gets to 10% and then i get the following error.

Sprite "_base_\graphics/entity/acid-splash-purple/splash-3.png" couldn't be loaded

I've tried re-installing several times but I keep getting the same outcome. and this issue persists with other stable versions as well.

This problem also leads to the game to crash without loading.

10% is roughly the time mods are loaded. Try removing your mods from the mod folder and try again.

This looks like a corrupted instalation. Delete it (mainly the data folder), and download again.
