Hey all,
Super stoked for Space Age, but I've noticed something since I've started playing the new expansion -- my bots grab new repair packs every time they conduct a repair! Is there something I should do to stop this? It just seems like a waste and clogs some of the roboports near where damage happens.
The image I've attached shows that the roboport has 700(!) repair packs in it!
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Bots grab new repair packs every time?
I think bots grab the closest repair pack when they are assigned to repair. There are a couple of things I think you could try.
You could put a wireless logistic condition on the inserter that adds repair packs to the network, to cap the number of repair packs in the network.
The other thing to maybe try is the new roboport logistics request feature to have some bots ready at that location. Presumably they would then be assigned to repair and grab the packs from the roboport instead of a new one.

I did a little testing and this is definitely not assigning robots correctly, I wrote up a bug report with a demo save here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=117937&p=626530
Re: Bots grab new repair packs every time?
This is what I ultimately did -- it has seemed to help. Maybe jeff.s's bug report will help, too!
I am curious about this - when I checked my logistic network, there were over 12k repair packs in the network! I have no idea what the bug could be, but I do think I'm in part at fault. I have a pretty large LN for the bots to cover, so maybe they're grabbing a fresh one after being close to my main base for construction and then heading out. Using shopt's recommendation of setting a cap did help a good deal.jeff.s wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 2:14 pm I did a little testing and this is definitely not assigning robots correctly, I wrote up a bug report with a demo save here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=117937&p=626530
Thank you both!

Hi, i just wanted to post this same thing.
There are robots and repair packs right beside where they need to go, instead of them, one robot from across the factory is called

Re: Bots grab new repair packs every time?
Hello, I also encountered this issue but I found a potential solution (if you guys have it set up the same way as I did)
In my mall I had the repair packs being deposited into a storage chest, which the bots seem to for some reason prioritize over the packs in roboports. Switching that chest to be a passive provider chest made them start using the repair packs in the roboports instead. (and the robots that already were in the roboports would use them, instead of sending a new robot from the mall)

Yes. Looks like the Priority of the storage in the Roboports is slightly higher than the Passive Provider Chests and a bit lower than the Storage Chests.Castior wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 1:00 pm Hello, I also encountered this issue but I found a potential solution (if you guys have it set up the same way as I did)

I think this is how it has worked for years. I doubt Factorio 2 changed this.
