Especially with all the new research from Space Age, it is becoming more important that production can react to what is really needed and that the planets can act largely autonomously. With the innovation of the combinators and the simple possibility of transporting signals via the radar stations, there are great opportunities for production scaling and control. Basically, we have easy access to two signal lines on the whole planet. (Green and Red). The stock level of the Logistic network can be checked via the roboport.
I proceeded as follows:
Roboports show the stock ect
The Itemqualitie in the first post are only normal qualitie
Green Wires shows the storage capacity of the items
Red wires transports the control signals (-2 Trash item / -1 To much item / 1 Need Item / 2 Shortage of Item
I proceeded according to the following rules when designing the individual systems:
1. each machine switches on when its product is needed. This is signal 1 on the item on the red line
2. Each factory unit contains a number of chests for the items that have been ordered and produced. The unit reports this maximum stock level to the controller via the green line, i choose to send only 75% of Capacity to the green line. This works as good buffer.
3. Each unit contains a connector pole for a similar unit with which green and red lines can be easily connected locally between the units
A relaystation is forwarding the signal to the local production.
It has a interupter in the red wires, so that wrong signales stay local.

Since liquids cannot be measured directly via the logistics network, I am still experimenting with a good solution
At the moment I subtract the actual content per production unit from the capacity. this gives me a switching point
