I want to try a "100% Achievements Speedrun," but I'm sentimental to my achievements on Steam (the first ones I got for Factorio date all the way back to 2019, it's kinda nostalgic.)
If I delete achievements in the settings menu, will it also delete Steam's achievements, or just the ones local to my computer?
Somewhat related, but I do wish game-local achievements were a thing, since triggering them is always a nice dopamine dump, even if I'd done so once before.
Can I reset achievements without affecting Steam achievements?

Re: Can I reset achievements without affecting Steam achievements?
as far as I'm aware, steam achievements =/= in-game achievements during modded runs
Deleting your factorio achievements will not persist to steam achievements that you already have.
I am unsure that it may or may not reset in-progress counters such as "Craft 20M Electronic Circuits"
Your best bet for doing a 100% achievements speedrun is to add a QoL mod, or any mod in general, as I believe that saves with the world's save file.

I think I read somewhere that deleting achievements in the settings menu will propagate the change to steam. (Assuming you are playing the steam version).Clair wrote: Sun Dec 08, 2024 7:41 pm I want to try a "100% Achievements Speedrun," but I'm sentimental to my achievements on Steam (the first ones I got for Factorio date all the way back to 2019, it's kinda nostalgic.)

However there is another way to achieve what you want. Download the .zip version. That is a fully independent and portable version, and will start with no achievements unlocked, allowing to do a 100% achievements speedrun without affecting your steam achievements.
