RGB color of all ores, plates, steel, fluids, circuits

Post by zOldBulldog »

I like to set my locomotives to the same color as the product they transport. In the past I googled the color IRL for those things but the locomotives render the color quite poorly and several end up looking similar (i.e.: Iron Plate and Steel are nearly identical).

Has anyone found the best "in Factorio" colors for those things so that we can set them to the locomotives?

I finally took the time to update my spreadsheet with updated RGB color codes for Factorio 2.0, so feel free to use them if you wish. Not perfect, but it works when trains need to change colors. Some of the colors are slightly different regarding the blue and grey hues. They are subtle changes noticed in the spreadsheet; however, you won't notice the difference when the trains are running. As long as the trains deliver I guess that is all that matters. I made this list based on things I transported by train in the past. Not everything made the list.

Thanks for this. You have a couple of duplicates: there are two entries for 'Explosives', as well as both one for 'Oil' and one for 'Crude oil'. Any chance you could post the spreadsheet?

Personally, I've been using the colours in this mod https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Automatic_Train_Painter, specifically the file colors/database/Factorio.lua, there's also an elevated-rails.lua, quality.lua, space-age.lua, and many others for other mods.
