[2.0.43] Space age: Weird high power consumption

Place for things which are bugs but we have no idea how to solve them. Things related to hardware, libraries, strange setups, etc.

[2.0.43] Space age: Weird high power consumption

Post by Synthe6 »

Hi,

I feel like some "ghosts" are draining my electricity on Gleba. Note that this is a long-running game, but I've noticed something weird where a simple outpost would use an average of 500 MW but after deconstructing it and undoing the deconstruction, the new consumption become less than 50 MW.

After deconstructing, waiting for the bots to do their jobs, then undoing the deconstruction, power consumption goes back to something reasonable:

I've included the save file as well, where the outpost hasn't been deconstructed yet and still has an abnormal power consumption.

Something wrong happened with the forum, so I've uploaded my save somewhere else:

I will throw this to 1/0 magic. All laser-turret energy buffers are corrupted causing them to try charge but they refuse energy. If you know how could this happen i would like to know but there is nothing doable with this save file alone as it is already corrupted.

Uh, I wonder if this will help me identify them?
Like I think this is some bugged laser-turret, right?

And I looked at another outpost to the west of my main base, but most of those other turrets are not with energy despite unpowered:

Looking further into this, it seems like it affected all laser turrets in my eastern outposts (minus some turrets which got rebuilt from attacks while the base was unpowered).

Then, for my western outposts, only a few turrets are affected, but then I remembered there was a pretty bad attack that destroyed quite a lot of stuff but that was a long time ago, probably a couple of patches ago...

Also, the image you posted, is that from the in-game RAM? Or is it from the save file itself? If that's the latter, I guess I could probably do something to programmatically revert it back to normal.
Thinking about it, I usually change the save filename after each new patch I play, so I still have a bunch of old saves. Maybe I could identify how long this bug's been around too.

I went with deconstructing laser turrets and then reconstructing them on Gleba, but there still seems to be some missing power consumption:

All of the items doesn't seem to add up to the total above. I've checked the other planets and so far, Gleba is the only planet with discrepancy for power consumption.
